How does Siberson Veriket Data Discovery score and prioritize findings?
Findings are not equal. A credit card number on an admin's encrypted laptop is a fundamentally different risk than the same number on an open-share folder visible to 4,000 employees. Siberson Veriket Data Discovery's risk scoring engine combines four signals into a single severity score:
-
Data sensitivity — what kind of data was found (PII vs PCI vs IP vs auth material).
-
Volume — how many records or how many sensitive matches in the artifact.
-
Exposure — who can access the location (single user, team share, broad share, public link, anonymous).
-
Context — file age, last access, freshness of the data, label state, ownership clarity.
Each finding receives a severity rating (Critical / High / Medium / Low) and a numeric score (0–100). The console defaults to surfacing Critical and High findings first, which is what compliance and incident-response teams care about.
