Sensitive data does not respect the tidy line between databases and documents. A customer record sits in a SQL table and in a dozen exported spreadsheets. Discovery has to cover both.
Structured sources
Databases like SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL and PostgreSQL hold the system-of-record data. Discovery here maps columns and tables that contain regulated information such as identifiers, cardholder and health data.
Unstructured sources
Far more sensitive data ends up in files — shares, NAS, endpoints and cloud storage. Discovery must read documents, spreadsheets, images and archives, not just tables.
One engine, one map
Veriket scans structured and unstructured sources from a single console and merges the results into one inventory, so nothing sensitive stays hidden on the side you forgot to scan.
